Smart MasterKey & G4S Estonia launches mobile access pilot

Smart MasterKey and G4S Estonia announce the start of a mobile access pilot at the new G4S headquarters in Tallinn. The pilot connects the Smart MasterKey cloud platform with the ICT Protege access control system used in the building.

The pilot focuses on real daily use of mobile credentials. Employees and building users will unlock access points such as speed gates and lifts with their smartphones instead of plastic cards or physical keys. The project will test usability, reliability, and operational workflows in a live corporate environment.

Smart MasterKey enriches existing access control platforms

The integration connects Smart MasterKey software directly to the existing ICT Protege infrastructure, upgrading the current access infrastructure to next-generation mobile access without requiring or investing in any new hardware.

One major advantage is that the building retains its current security investment while gaining mobile access capabilities.

The goal of the pilot is to unite the Smart MasterKey mobile access experience with the need for new innovation of G4S commercial customers and define how the solution can be best packaged for them. The results will support the creation of a scalable service model for office buildings and enterprise clients.

Artur Aunapu, Director of G4S Business Solutions Division, said: “Mobile access is a natural next step in the evolution of access control. This pilot allows us to evaluate how smartphone-based credentials can improve user experience, simplify operations, and create new value for our customers.”

Kristjan Haav, CEO of Smart MasterKey, said: “Working with G4S Estonia is an important step for Smart MasterKey. This pilot allows us to test integration with the ICT Protege system in a real enterprise environment and prepare a commercial offering for G4S customers.”

The pilot will provide insight into deployment processes, user onboarding, and day to day management of mobile credentials. The learnings will guide future rollouts across G4S managed buildings and customer sites.
