Mike, welcome to the team! We would like to know a little bit about you, your background, and your previous experiences.
Thank you! I’m thrilled to be joining Smart MasterKey. Over the past two decades, I have worked for leading IT development companies as a Senior Project Manager and Business Development Manager. As a business developer, I’ve focused on bringing innovative solutions to the market and building strategic partnerships. My background also includes IT development, website development, IoT integrations, and automation solutions. I have recently been managing several IT software solution projects, where I led strategic planning and managed project lifecycles. Building long-term, value-driven relationships with customers is one of my strengths.
What is your main focus in your new role at Smart MasterKey?
Our mission is to drive Smart MasterKey’s growth by expanding into key markets, building strategic partnerships, and ensuring our solutions connect with our customers. We work closely with our CTO Oliver to accomplish this. As smart technologies become increasingly critical to modern buildings, I will help focus on increasing our visibility, developing new verticals, and enhancing our value proposition. By collaborating closely with our sales, marketing, and product teams, I’ll support our CEO Kristjan in executing a strategy that delivers real-world results.
What are you most excited about in your new position?
The solutions we offer have the potential to transform how buildings are managed and experienced. Being part of a team that’s pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in smart building technology is incredibly motivating.
What makes this role different from your previous positions?
One of the key differences is the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and agile environment. Smart MasterKey is at the front line of smart building technology, and the energy and passion of the team here are truly inspiring. There’s a sense of shared purpose and a commitment to driving real change in the industry. That’s a big change from the more traditional corporate structures I’ve encountered before.
What kind of opportunities do you see for Smart MasterKey in the market?
The market is at a turning point. Building owners, operators, and tenants are increasingly demanding smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable buildings. Smart MasterKey is uniquely positioned to deliver on those needs with solutions that simplify access control, improve security, and enhance user experience, all while reducing system complexity.
In the coming years, smart building solutions will become the norm rather than the exception.
What do you see as your biggest challenge in the role?
The biggest challenge is educating the market on the real benefits of smart access solutions. Many decision-makers are still hesitant to adopt new technologies, either because of issues with complexity or concerns about integration. It’s my job to show them how intuitive and impactful these solutions can be, and to ensure that we provide the support they need for a smooth transition.
How do you see Smart MasterKey’s solutions shaping the industry and making a difference?
The Smart MasterKey is transforming the security industry also. Building owners and operators can improve how people interact with their spaces by offering secure, flexible, and scalable access management. In addition to helping buildings adapt to the needs of modern tenants, we offer solutions that improve safety and operational efficiency.
How will your role align with that vision?
It is my responsibility to connect original ideas with actual business opportunities. The alignment of our technology with Oliver’s CTO’s and listening to customers and the market will enable Smart MasterKey to expand its footprint and make smart access a standard feature in modern buildings.
What do you most hope to gain from this new opportunity?
I’m excited to challenge myself in new ways and contribute to the exciting growth of Smart MasterKey. This role is a fantastic chance to help drive the company’s mission forward and make a meaningful impact in an industry that’s evolving rapidly. Having the opportunity to contribute to building Smart MasterKey into a leading name for smart building solutions is something I am excited about, and I’m eager to play a part in its success.
